Greek Tangerines (Mandarines) are harvested from several parts of Greece.  They are available late October till February.

Grade: A Sizes: 1-4

They are packaged plastic crates of 10 kg each.

Approximate net weight per refrigerated truck: 21500kg / per regular truck: 23000kg

They are valuable sources of flavonoid anti-oxidants like naringenin, naringin, hesperetin, vitamin A, carotenes, xanthins and luteins; in fact, several times higher than in the oranges.

Clementines, are smaller, have smooth glossy skin, and very sweet, juicy, almost seedless segments.

Tangerines are believed to have originated in China.  They have been cultivated in China and Japan for over 3,000 years.  Arrived in Europe in the early 19th century and North America by the middle of the century.
