Greek Herbs

Greek herbs are unique because of the natural areas where they are grown.  The profusion of sunshine during the year, sea, air, rich soil . . .  There are 7,500 different species growing in Greece, and about 850 will be found only in Greece.  There are at least 52 herbs that have influenced the gods and goddesses of Greek mythology.

Greek herbs have always played an important role to the Greek people.  Herbs have many apparent health benefits that have been handed down through generations.  Greek herbs are a big part in the every day life, history, cooking and culture even today.

Herbs confer a lot of benefits during the cooking process.  They make the food taste good, but they also protect the fats from oxidation during cooking, making them perfectly paired with fatty foods. Furthermore, most of the Greek Herbs can be brewed and be used to soothe mild pains, indigestion, diarrhea, heartburn, headaches and give a good night sleep since they contain no caffeine.
